Alesmith’s .394 Pale Ale is one of my favorites. I had it in Cooperstown, NY years ago. I have only been able to find it every blue moon in the NYC area. But now craft shack gets it to me in days. The hazy flavor is a little less harsh, then the original beer. While the hoppy flavor comes through strongly followed and finished by a grapefruit taste. It makes for A wonderful refreshing IPA. A great tribute to one of the classiest men to play the game. He was involved in making this beer before his death. And Alesmith who is located in San Diego, named the beer after his highest average in a season. And this year the cans Changed to reflect those wonderful early 80’s Padre uniforms in another tribute to Mr. Padre.
