Another barrel-aged beauty, like those you've come to expect from AleSmith, this Speedway Stout was first aged in Tennessee whiskey barrels, which is what inspired the name for this robust beer ("Big Bender" is a nickname for someone from Tennessee.) We then added Colombian coffee that had been aged in cognac barrels, and just a hint of fresh orange zest and cardamom.

Incredible chocolate aroma on this one. All of the adjunct flavors were well integrated, but the mouthfeel was a little thin. Also, the chocolate flavor wasn't as incredible as the chocolate aroma. Otherwise, excellent beer.
