(1) Silly Saison 330ML BTL
Saison | 5.5% ABV
Commercial Description:
Traditional style of brew in the Hainaut region of Belgium since Saisons were originally brewed for farm hands, and this region was densely populated with farms. Saisons were brewed during the winter months while the farming workload was slow, however were consumed during the harvest in the summer months.
The taste profile is slightly hoppy and easily drinkable with a hint of sour. All of these flavors are due to the functional reasons for the beer versus the brewer creating this specific taste profile. Higher levels of hops were added for it’s qualities of preservation versus taste enhancement, as this beer was to be consumed up to nine months after it was brewed. A sour note would be detected in the taste of the beer due to oxidation from being aged for nine months in porous wooden casks. The low alcohol content of these beers give them an easy drinking quality.
(1) Chimay Cinq Cents (White) 750ML BTL
Belgian Tripel | 8% ABV
The Cinq Cents was first brewed in 1966 by reverend Father Theodore and it was his final contribution to the Chimay line of beers. It was formerly known as “White Cap” and no other brew has been created since. Cinq Cents translates to 500, honoring the 500th anniversary of the Principality of Chimay whose support made the founding of the Scourmont Abbey possible in 1850.

(1) Kapittel Pater 6 330ML BTL
Abbey Ale | 6.0% ABV
This red-brown abbey ale can be considered a “single,” meaning a beer that was made for the guests of the abbey and for everyday consumption. Of course, this is a top-fermenting ale, refermented in the bottle and thus kept alive, which means you can age the beer for a few years. The head is strong and keeps well.
The aroma reminds one of sweet burning wood and gives us hints of sweet peaches, ending in a light hoppy bitterness.
(1) Gulden Draak 9000 Quadruple 750ML BTL
Abt/Quadrupel | 10.7% ABV
An exceptional, complex taste sensation with a deep, amber color. An ode ot the city of Ghent– the golden dragon standing guard atop the belfry.
25 years after one of the most recognized and successful beers in the United States, Gulden Draak gets a sibling, the Gulden Draak 9000 Quadruple.
Gulden Draak 9000 Quad has a complex taste sensation with a rich, luxurious beer head. The sweet caramel touches and dark color, however, are still reserved for the Gulden Draak Triple.
The new recipe, based on three different varieties of malt are added in a volume four times the content of lager, which provide the Gulden Draak 9000 Quad with a deep rich amber color and a fruity, spicy scent. Together with the smooth and malty sweet taste, this sensation ensures that Gulden Draak 9000 us a wonderfully accomplished bouquet.
Just like the other specialy beers of Brewery Van Steenberge, the Gulden Draak 9000 Quad is a secondary fermented beer. A special wine yeast is used for the secondary fermentation, which contributes to the grandiose taste. At 10.7% ABV, I think you would agree!
