India Pale Ale | 6.8% ABV
Commercial Description:
Blazing World is an aggressively hoppy beer that shares characteristics with both double IPAs and amber ales. It’s hopped with an excessive quantity of Nelson Sauvin, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops, giving it an intensely fruity, dank hop aroma, followed by a huge & complex hop flavor and a healthy dose of bitterness. Its amber body is deceptively dry, offering just enough malt backbone to support its distinctive and incredibly robust hop character.

Modern Times Blazing World pours to a slightly cloudy orange amber color with a light fluffy head and “dank” leafy herbal notes. Thick Brussels lace forms on the sides of my glass and follows the beer to the bottom of the glass.Taking a sip, the beer is medium in maltiness (I’d like more), there are “dank” herbal leafy notes mixed with tropical mango and citrus fruits, and I like the combination. As it warms, more of both emerge. Nice balance between dank and tropical!
1" slightly off-white head on a golden-amber, clean, and mostly clear IPA. Good retention on the dense, creamy head with the beginnings of fresh lacing apparent early. White grape, pine, kiwi...unique hop profile over a light caramel/bready malt base. Tangy Nelson hops are the show here. Grape (mild Sauvignon Banc character) and berries. Zingy, zesty flavors. Medium in body and carbonation. Balanced finish with a touch of malt sweetness and then lingering mild bitterness that dries out the beer in the end. Very good, unique hop profile and high drinkability.
One of the best red IPAs I’ve ever had. I crave this at the end of the day...it’s my surefire go-to. This is what I compare other red IPAs to. Can’t wait to visit their brewery in San Diego.
