Stout - Oatmeal | 5.8% ABV
Commercial Description:
It’s so great that you like coffee. I just love that about you. Speaking of which, you’re holding an oatmeal coffee stout positively redolent with coffee aroma and flavor. It’s not acrid. It’s not astringent. It doesn’t taste like that brown puddle at the bottom of the office carafe at 4pm. It kind of tastes like chocolate covered espresso beans, only drier and more like beer. It’s the full-blown coffee beer experience in a sessionable-ish package

This is exactly like drinking a cup of coffee. Not sweet, not too bitter. Love this brew! its a great change from the IPA, Pilsners, etc. and no sweetness like the coconut coffees that seem to be so popular. its like you're at Starbucks
Delicious dark coffee and hints of cocoa.
This dark beer has a strong coffee smell/flavor and is very mild on the alcohol. Perfect for a breakfast beer.
I love stouts and Modern Times Black House Coffee Ale did not disappoint. Entirely. Each sip is accentuated by deep coffee notes and a slight sweetness, the pronounced coffee aroma is one of its best qualities. Chocolate covered espresso beans give this beer a semi-sweet pallet that does not go overboard, it is well maintained. This stout is not as dense as others but it does not miss out in flavor. This beer is smoky, dark, and semi-rich; it’s flavor is not really the issue, but the watery quality of it is what knocked it down a bit. Overall, good beer worth giving a try. For now I will skip te-ordering this one though.
Robust nose of black coffee and coffee grinds. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body, smooth with ***** oats, hinting at caramel, roasty with dark black coffee notes and coffee grinds and intensely roasty. Intensely roasty, nigh char. Delicious!
