- malt bomb
- caramel malts
- amber color
average to good. Nothing special here
I like a good bock and this one fit the bill!
Hazy orange amber color with a moderate head of foam and a mostly caramel malty nose. Taking a sip, the beer is full and rich in body with luscious caramel malts, and hints of toasty nutty malt, too. Taking a sip, there is more caramel malt here than the toasty nutty melanoidin Munich malts I want, though I get some of those. A a hint of sourness at the warming end implies a possible canning infection. This was distracting. I did enjoy this as a malt bomb though in these days of endless IPAs and sours. I would buy it again to hopefully get a better sample.
Nice doppelbock with good toffee, stone fruit, nut and roast notes. Really added a lot of nice body with a strong aroma. Well worth a purchase!
