Stout - Imperial / Double | 8.5% ABV
Commercial Description:
Brewed every year on Halloween and ready by Thanksgiving. This annual stout is brewed with locally grown pumpkins and squash roasted over bourbon barrel staves then smashed into the mash. The result is a rich roasty toasty stout. The best part? We leave out the pumpkin spice. Zilch.

Probably one of the better pumpkin beers I have had
Jet black color with a thick creamy tan head and a subtle roast and pumpkin nose. Taking a sip, the beer is rich roasty up front with chocolate and deep seated licorice notes. There are squashy gourdy pumpkin notes underneath the chocolate, and they are vegetal and even a tad sour and contrast wonderfully against the chocolaty stout. I like it more with every sip. Not exactly pumpkin death, but darned pumpkin tasty.
Very good beer! Highly recommend!
It’s a different take that doesn’t use gimmicks. More roasty and pumpkin and squash.
But didn’t get much pumpkin flavor! I was excited to get pumpkins and not the spices, but it didn’t seem very “Yammy”.
